Draw & Write: Fill in the Blank – Everyday 19

This free printable draw-and-write worksheet connects beginning writing practice with a familiar person from a child’s everyday life. Pre-K and kindergarten children follow the prompt to draw a teacher, choosing the teacher’s appearance and other details for their picture. They then complete “This is my ___.” by writing the word that identifies the person they drew.

The supported sentence gives children practice using a familiar vocabulary word in a meaningful, personal context without requiring them to write the entire sentence independently. As they move from drawing to writing, children work on vocabulary recall, early spelling, handwriting, and reading their completed sentence. This free preschool and kindergarten worksheet can be used for homeschool, beginning writing practice, or additional early literacy work at home.
