Draw & Write: Fill in the Blank – Everyday 03

This free Pre-K and kindergarten worksheet uses a familiar animal to practice the connection between spoken words, pictures, and written vocabulary. Children follow the prompt to draw a cat, then complete “I see a ___.” by writing the word that matches their picture. The drawing gives children a visual reference to work from when they move on to the writing portion.

Completing just one missing word makes sentence practice manageable for children who are still developing handwriting and early spelling skills. The finished sentence also shows that words can label familiar objects while working together to communicate a complete idea.
