Draw My Day: Fill in the Blank 03

This free printable daily writing worksheet encourages pre-K, kindergarten, and beginning writers to notice and record something they saw during their day. Children add the date, draw something they saw today, and then complete the sentence “Today I saw…” to identify or describe what they chose for their picture. Their subject can be an animal, person, vehicle, object, place, event, or anything else that caught their attention.

Using a real observation gives children a concrete idea to write about while the sentence starter keeps the writing task manageable for beginning writers. The activity combines memory, observation, drawing, vocabulary, handwriting, and early sentence practice in a simple personal journal format. Use this free kindergarten draw-and-write worksheet for daily journaling, homeschool, morning work, reflection activities, or an ongoing picture journal at home.
