Build the Sentence: 5 Words – Everyday 06

This free printable sentence building worksheet gives kindergarten and first grade kids practice arranging five scrambled words into a complete sentence. Kids put the words “fun,” “read,” “we,” “book,” and “a” in the correct order to make “We read a fun book,” then write the finished sentence on the blank writing line. Afterward, they can draw the book, the people reading it, or their own picture inspired by the sentence.

Five-word sentence scrambles are a simple way for beginning readers to practice word order, sentence structure, reading, and writing at home. This sentence also gives kids practice figuring out where a describing word belongs while using familiar vocabulary that is easy to understand. Drawing a matching picture adds a creative comprehension activity after the sentence is complete. This no-cut printable works well for homeschool, kindergarten or first grade practice at home, summer learning, or extra reading and writing practice.
