This free printable sentence building worksheet gives kindergarten and first grade kids practice arranging five scrambled words into a complete sentence. Kids put the words “I,” “red,” “a,” “see,” and “ball” in the correct order to make “I see a red ball,” then write the finished sentence on the blank writing line. Afterward, they can draw a picture to match the sentence in the large drawing box.
Five-word sentence scrambles add a little more challenge for beginning readers who are ready to move beyond very short sentences. Kids practice word order, basic sentence structure, reading, and writing while also working with describing words such as “red.” The drawing section gives them a creative way to show that they understand the sentence they built. This no-cut printable is easy to use for homeschool, kindergarten or first grade practice at home, summer learning, or extra reading and writing practice.
