Build the Sentence: 5 Words – Everyday 04

This free printable sentence building worksheet gives kindergarten and first grade kids practice putting five scrambled words in the correct order. Kids rearrange the words “lunch,” “eat,” “I,” “today,” and “my” to make “I eat my lunch today,” then write the completed sentence on the blank writing line. Afterward, they can draw their lunch or create a picture to match the sentence in the large drawing box.

Five-word sentence scrambles give beginning readers practice working out word order and building slightly longer sentences from familiar words. Kids can practice reading, basic sentence structure, and writing while thinking about how each word changes or adds to the complete thought. The drawing section gives them a creative way to connect the sentence with an everyday experience. This no-cut printable is easy to use for homeschool, kindergarten or first grade practice at home, summer learning, or extra reading and writing practice.
