Build the Sentence: 5 Words – Everyday 15

This free printable sentence building worksheet gives kindergarten and first grade kids practice arranging five scrambled words into a complete sentence. Kids put the words “paper,” “lines,” “I,” “on,” and “draw” in the correct order to make “I draw lines on paper,” then write the finished sentence on the blank writing line. Afterward, they can draw a picture to show the sentence in the large drawing box.

Five-word sentence scrambles give beginning readers practice with word order, sentence structure, reading, and writing while using short sentences they can work through independently or with a little help. This page also gives kids practice recognizing how “on paper” fits into the sentence to explain where the action happens. The no-cut format makes it easy to print for homeschool, kindergarten or first grade practice at home, summer learning, or extra sentence building and writing practice.
