Read & Draw: Simple – Everyday 08

This free kindergarten and Pre-K reading worksheet gives children a simple sentence to read and interpret: “A car drives.” Once they understand what the sentence describes, children draw their own version of the scene in the large space provided. They might draw a car on a road, in a neighborhood, or somewhere entirely different while still showing the action from the sentence.

Read-and-draw activities encourage beginning readers to combine the words they see with what they already know about familiar objects and actions. This free printable provides straightforward reading comprehension practice while leaving room for imagination and individual responses. Parents can also use the finished drawing as an informal way to check whether their child understood the sentence without asking additional written questions.
