Draw My Day: Finish the Sentence 01

This free printable daily writing worksheet helps kindergarten and first grade children reflect on something they did during their day through drawing and writing. Children add the date, draw something they did today, and then finish the sentence “Today I did…” using details from their own experience. They can write a simple ending or add more information about what they did, where it happened, or who was there.

The open-ended writing space gives developing writers more freedom than a basic fill-in-the-blank activity while still providing a sentence starter to help them begin. Drawing first can also help children organize an idea before putting it into words. Use this free kindergarten and first grade draw-and-write worksheet for daily journaling, homeschool, morning or end-of-day writing practice, personal narratives, or creating an ongoing picture journal of everyday experiences.
