Build the Sentence: 3 Words – Everyday 01

This free printable sentence building worksheet gives preschool and early kindergarten kids a simple way to practice putting words in order without needing to write. Kids look at the three words “The,” “sleeps,” and “cat,” then point to them in the correct order and say “The cat sleeps” aloud. After building the sentence orally, they can draw a sleeping cat in the large picture box.

This beginner sentence activity is designed for young children who are starting to understand that words need to go in a certain order to make sense. Pointing and saying the words aloud lets kids practice simple sentence structure, word order, early reading, and oral language without handwriting getting in the way. The drawing activity adds an easy way to connect the sentence with its meaning. This no-cut printable works well for preschool, Pre-K, early kindergarten, homeschool, or beginning reading practice at home.
